Who should attend this conference?

 

The Winter Growth conference is for those who work with abused, neglected, and troubled children and youth such as foster and/or adoptive families, casemanagers, residential treatment center staff, juvenile probation officers, therapists, counselors, education professionals, etc.

 

 

 

How can I register?

 

You can register on-line or you can register by mail once you receive the registration packet in Dec.  The website is: www.wintergrowth.org

 

  

 

What is the last day to pre-register for the conference and the last day for hotel reservations for the special rate?

 

Pre-registration ends on January 10, 2009 and must be postmarked by that date.  There is a Late registration fee of $10 after this date.  The last day to obtain the special rate for the hotel reservations is January 10, 2009.

 

 

 

Can I register at the conference?

 

Yes, but pre-registration is strongly recommended so that enough printed materials, refreshments, etc. can be planned for and it means less hassle for you that morning. There is also a $20 On-site fee in addition to the registration fee.  If you are going to on-site register, please show up early to do so.

 

 

 

What forms of payment are accepted?

 

We accept money orders, checks, Purchase Orders.  Make them payable to "Open Arms-Winter Growth".  We also accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Pay Pal (only online).

Will there be refreshments during breaks?

 

There will be a Cash Refreshment bar in each of the ballrooms in the morning from 7:00 am to 8:15 am and from 2:30 to 3:00 pm in the Venice Ballroom. Prices will vary from $.75 to $3.00 for cookies, muffins, breakfast tacos, juices, water, sodas and coffee.

 

 

How many training hours are offered?

 

Thursday day: 6:15, Thursday evening: 3:00, Friday: 6:45,  Saturday: 3:00. Total conference: 19:00 (amount received will depend on the number of sessions you attend)

 

 

 

How many total CEU’s are offered? 

 

CEU's are only for licensed professionals.  

 

Thurs: .625,Thursday evening: .3, Fri: .675 Sat: .3    Total conference: 1.9  which is equivalent to 19:00 hours.  The amount received will depend on the number of sessions you attend.

 

 

 

How many CEU’s are being offered for the Ethics session?

 

.3 (3:00 clock hours)

 

 

 

What type of CEU’s are being offered?

 

The CEU’s are being offered by Del Mar college and are general CEU’s that can be used for many different types of licenses.  You will need to submit them to your licensing agency for approval.

 

 

 

What is the cost of the CEU’s?

 

$20.00

 

 

 

How will I obtain my CEU certificate?

 

You must turn in your stamped Training Record that shows the sessions that you attended in the CEU box at the Registration table at the conference.  We will make a copy of it for you to take with you. If you forget, you must mail them in with a $2 Late Fee to: Winter Growth Conference, P.O. Box 60861, Corpus Christi, TX 78466. Make checks  payable to: Open Arms-Winter Growth. We will not accept them after February 10, 2009.  Please allow 3-4 weeks for your CEU certificate to arrive.

 

 

 

Can I get a refund if I cannot attend?

 

Refunds are not given

 

 

 

Can I switch out for someone else if they cannot attend ie: co-worker?

 

Yes, we will need that person’s name and you will need to go to the on-site registration.

 

 

 

 

Important Instructions

 

 

Turn pagers and cell phones to silent mode or you will be asked to leave the session

 

Those leaving during the session will not receive credit for it.

 

Do not bring children.  They can cause disruptions and some session contents may not be appropriate for little ears.  Some exceptions will be allowed, but you must contact Alisa Swinderman  at  361-851-8682.
